Description

George A. Klingman (1865-1939) – son-in-law of I. B. Grubbs – was a preacher, writer, and teacher during the first part of the twentieth century. He was described by Richard Thomas Hughes as “a pioneer in…higher education” and “probably the best-educated preacher in Churches of Christ during the first third of the twentieth century.” His educational career included work with Abilene Christian College, Potter Bible College, and Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

In Church History for Busy People, Klingman traces the changes made in church organization, doctrine, and worship since the time of the first century. He discusses the various sects, creeds, reforms, persecutions, and movements that have been part of this history. Since this material was written in 1909, it only traces this history up to that point. However, this book continues to be a valuable resource for reference even today.
