In the early 1800s, a movement began in the United States that would significantly impact the religious world of that time and continues to influence the thinking of many today. It became known as the Restoration Movement because the aim was to bring about unity among believers by leaving the churches and creeds of men and restoring the doctrines and practices of the first-century church found in the New Testament.

As the idea of Restoration took hold and multitudes were won to the cause, more men began to proclaim the gospel of Christ in its purity and simplicity. This second volume of Restoration Pioneers contains biographical sketches of twenty-one of these men. It includes a mix of more well-known preachers – such as J. W. McGarvey, Daniel Sommer, and John T. Johnson – as well as some lesser-known men who were still diligently laboring for the cause of Christ. This book also contains a history of the Christian Churches in Fayette County, Indiana, which includes several of the men included in this book.

The author, Kyle D. Frank, has been studying the history of the Restoration Movement for many years. He has taken a wealth of information about these men, distilled it down, and has been able to present these biographies in a concise, easy-to-read format. All who are interested in learning from the past will benefit from the material in this volume.
