Written by E. A. Elam

This contains the biography of J. M. Kidwill, who preached for a quarter century in Middle Tennessee.

Description

James Monroe Kidwill (1836-1892) was raised in poverty and received minimal schooling. However, he was not uneducated, but studied the Bible on his own and even taught himself Greek. He began his career as a schoolteacher, but in 1865, he began preaching the gospel, overcoming poverty, discouragement, and other hardships. For a quarter century, he preached the gospel primarily in Middle Tennessee, establishing churches and strengthening the brethren. Even after his death, his influence was felt by the disciples in that area.

Twenty-Five Years of Trust was first published the year after Kidwill’s death. It describes the life of a faithful preacher and offers valuable lessons for preachers and those who would support their work in the kingdom.
